Cable Assembler (Military)

Summary

This position is to assemble wiring harnesses and cables with accuracy using Assembly Process Instructions. Reports to Manufacturing Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Cable and harness production including wire crimping and cutting, and soldering
  • Perform full range of tasks following Assembly Process Instructions (APIs)
  • Operate and maintain various hand tools, crimp tools and assembly-line equipment
  • Fabricate/ prepare wires and cables
  • Use of hand and pneumatic tools to strip and crimp
  • Tinning of wires using solder pot
  • Perform precise soldering of wire to wire and wire to terminal
  • Insertion of terminated/ crimped wires into connectors
  • Route wires on harness boards
  • Handle and label all wires, connectors and cables of assembled unit
  • Clean and organize jobsite and comply with established workplace safety practices
  • Report problems with quality, processes, equipment and materials to Team Leader
  • Perform other duties as requested by Team Leader, Supervisor, or Manager

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • IPC Certification preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to read instructions in English
  • Must be able to work under microscope for up to 8 hours
  • Must be a permanent US Resident

Shift

  • Monday – Friday (7:00am – 3:30pm)
  • Overtime availability required after 3:30 pm and Saturday mornings
