PCB Solder

Summary

Installing hardware and hand soldering of electronic components in printed circuit boards. Reports to Manufacturing Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow standard Assembly Process Instructions (APIs)
  • Solder through-hole components
  • Use hand and power tools such as soldering irons, cutters, pliers, screwdrivers, and scopes
  • Light mechanical assembly and press fit
  • Perform intermediate hand assembly/soldering operations
  • Utilize soldering machines to perform wire/lead tinning
  • Route and attach wires and form circuitry
  • Installation of through-hole and surface mount components (basic hand soldering)
  • Identify and apply very small components in very small spaces without damaging adjacent parts
  • Keep work environment clean, safe and orderly
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Previous soldering experience preferred
  • IPC Certification preferred, but not required
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred, but not required
  • Must be able to read instructions in English
  • Must be able to work under microscope for long periods of time

Shift

  • Monday – Friday (7:00am – 3:30pm)
  • Overtime availability required after 3:30 pm and Saturday mornings
